A Waltz With The Gods

I danced in the fire

And merged into ecstasy.

I found my cosmic lover

And we morphed into worlds.

Flying as ether,

A flame from space to space.

She died and found herself.

And we danced in the Sun.

I became the fire

And melted again and again,

And made love to the Sun

And became the Sun.

She awoke from death filled.

And accepted the smallness of the ant.

Humbled.

Mother of the Light protect my way,

So I may dance with the Sun always.

Fire as strength. Fierce.

And she danced with her cosmic lover.

Life.

"Mother of the Light protect my way,  So I may dance with the Sun always."

Those were my favorite lines.  Like a prayer spoken by any age.

Hmmm.  Have a nice love affair, did we?  I know the feeling, when love, closeness, and yes, sex, seem to lift us to a higher plane, a different level of existence.  Thanks for sharing your poem and your emotion.

Opening up and bravely flinging oneself into it all. Dancing with the sun. Vulnerability is a strength.

Vulnerability is a strength, hard at times, boy can it be hard!

jewels, you were the first to welcome me which sets you on a pedestal in my mind.you wouldn't believe the intellectual level of the people in our town.you may not remember but we were commenting on the difference and function of the spirit and soul.that was my first contribution to H P.jewels, your comment on what i said made me whole again and confirmed that i am not stupid or deluded into thinking I"m inteligent.it was just one word   "nice",i don't no how you do it but i am committed to you as a true bodhisattva...peace...

I am often guilty

of worshipping the sun,

becoming a burnt offering

drenched in oils,

and when I am splayed

like bacon on the beach,

and her warm fingers

massage all of my flesh,

I drift into a paradise

unlike anything felt daily

in the humdrum of life...

she carries me away,

back to my fondest moments

that fate granted me,

my first kiss, just as warm

and invigorating,

or my mothers arms,

though she is long since

passed on beyond the

realm of the sun,

and so many lazy days

as a child playing

make believe under

her watchful gaze.

I like to walk in the rain,

and feel nature wash me

in it's essence,

I have been known to lie

in a babbling brook and

just listen to its sweet song,

I have even rolled naked

in the snow and then plunged

into a warmth similiar to

the suns in a hot tub,

but there is nothing like

a day on the beach,

basking in her heavenly face.

Great hub...

let's go dancing together

sometime on two distant shores

and remember this comment

as we giggle at the beauty

of it all~~~MFB III

your wonderful sense of poetic timing and eloquent wording reminds me of a Strauss waltz - and a beautiful thing that is!

Jewels profile image

Jewels Hub Author 22 months ago

A lovely compliment, thankyou so much epigramman. I love Strauss waltzes.

Jewels profile image

Jewels Hub Author 22 months ago

epigramman wrote via fan mail: "you are such a lovely writer ... so believe me the pleasure is all mine!

And I will play (On the) Beautiful Blue Danube - just for you!"

I had to add it. As I read back through everyone's comments, this is proof the WWW can be an amazing space. Heartness.
